Shepheard, Spiers & Watson

 *

Peter Shepheard, Tom Spiers and Arthur Watson have been active performers, collectors, organisers since the 1960s. Enthusiasts for Scotland's living tradition, they bring together a wealth of song, gleaned predominantly from traditional sources. Simple, powerful and effective fiddle, whistle and melodeon underscore three big voices as they revel in a colourful, broad sweep of Scots song.

Their first CD together- "They Smiled as we Cam In" - has been critically acclaimed.

"Refreshingly real and nourishingly organic" (Scotland on Sunday)

"Storytelling in music at the highest level" (Living Tradition)

"Stirringly fresh - Why aren't there more records like this" (Net Rhythms)

Here they present two shows of similar but very different, contrasting material all culled from the rich cultural heritage of North East Scotland.
